SPicy spent some time trying to find information about and asking others
what they know about the candidates vying for the open School Board seat.
SPicy believes that the odds on favorite would be Ted Davis.
Mr. Davis comes heavily credentialed with ties to the DFL Party,
something SPicy thinks will be very important in this selection. Ted's wife
Andrea is the Technology Director (or similar title) for the City of Saint Paul.
In addition, Ted has assisted the Mayor's office with the implementation of the
Second Shift Initiative. SPicy is unsure about what is actually happening
with this program. His name pops up on other searches that put him a
lead coordinator of the Serving our Troops, Saint Paul to Kosovo,
Mississippi and Iraq. That helps him tie the knot with Council Member Pat Harris, as
well as several key business leaders. Business connections don't begin with his
efforts with Serving our Troops, but perhaps he was called upon to
assist in that effort because of his past employment history at the Saint Paul
Area Chamber of Commerce.
All things considered, the connections and experience that Mr. Davis
brings to the table, along with his record of public service places him at
the lead of the pack.
Other applicants have some other fine qualifications, but SPicy think
that this selection process could be put to rest right now.
