People out there really wanted SPicy to hear what went on around town last night.

Most entertaining were the couple of emails alerting SPicy to Melvin Carter's jockeying around council chambers for some face time on TV. SPicy assumes he wanted his constituents to see him on SPNN. Ratings were down to 4 people in the key demographic last night, good try though.  Apparently if the meeting lasted another minute or two its possible Melvin would have been sitting on Dave Thune's lap.  After the meeting Melvin was reported to have been lurking around council chambers chatting it up with Debbie's husband Robert, of course Mr. Carter was probably just talking to anyone that would listen to him. Must have been too hot to work the doors in the neighborhood last night.

Some chatter over on the east-side focused Dan Bostroms opponent Pakou Hang apparently having taken a play out of the John Edwards "Running for President for Dummies" and according to her campaign finance report got herself a $37 makeover at a Maplewood Salon.  SPicy does not care too much about the silly expenditure, but at least the money could have been spent in Saint Paul. Or as far as campaign spending goes possibly not at all.

Fran Zamb, who is running against Dave Thune must of had a Mancini's fundraiser last evening.  She must have had an operative watching the proceedings, SPicy understands that apparently moments after Dave Thune spoke something to the affect about his hope that someone would take the reigns and step up and lead the Bridges discussion, something he said he was unable to do, without hesitation Fran Zamb announced to her supporters that she would be happy to relieve Thune from his (efforts?) and be Ward 2's leader.
